An announcement...

I have an announcement to make....
Corbin, the boys & I are excited to let the world know about the latest addition to our little family! We have confirmed that there will finally be another "she" to this house overruled by"he"s. We went on a long drive last Saturday discussing names. We thought that it should be a family affair. Some of the names that were brought up were: (Can you guess who picked what????) Nelly, Ashley, Abigail, Shaquine, Jezabelle, Izzie, Myrtle, Mia, Wynona, Lena, Jackie, Annie, Emma, Reece, Baby, Ellie, Chloe and numerous others..... Mia, Ellie, and Chloe were our FAVORITES and it was a very close three way tie! But finally after much discussion- we decided on........ (drum roll please!!!!)
CHLOE
We thought that Chloe Christensen had a nice ring to it. So join us in our excitement to welcome our newest member to our family! YAY! I have already begun to purchase cute little accessories for her! A girl can never have too many, right???
(Picture posted below so you can get a peek at how cute she is!) :)
Isn't she cute! I am sure she will be the girl of my dreams! I can't wait for summer to come to take the top off! Oh, the places we will go! The boys love her already-even though the trunk space leaves much to be desired! I think a Safari rack is in order! This is the only pic I have of her so far.... I will have to keep you updated with all the places she takes us to! This day she took the boys snowboarding. Love her!
(For any of you who may be confused by this blog... we name all of our vehicles... Right now we have Lola -Corb's nice truck, Glen-the work truck, Hawndee-my "old" car. In the past there was Gus, Vern, and Snow White. They all become part of the family. Hope that clears it up for you.) :)

A few of my FAVORITE things...

Here are a few of my favorite things.... in no particular order.

*SAND*

I love sand! I love the different colors and textures. I love the way it crunches and squishes beneath my feet as I walk along it. I love the way it glistens as the sun touches it. I love it so much that I decided to collect it. Not only to be able to see the various colors and textures, but also to be able to look at it and be taken back to the place that it came from. I have sand from all over the world, some I have collected and some friends have brought me back from their adventures. It is probably one of the most inexpensive souviners to get, but the most priceless one once I have it. I have sand from different Caribbean islands: Aruba, St. John, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Dominica, St. Thomas, & Costa Rica. Sand from the US: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Wyoming, & of course all over Utah. I have sand from the base of the Pyramids in Giza, Egypt. Sand from the Mediterranean Sea. Sand from Taiwan & Vietnam. Sand from the Aegean Sea Santorini, Greece, & from the Adriatic Sea Dubrovnik, Croatia. I will soon have sand from Bolivia, Brazil, and also Russia! I would really like some from Iraq or Afganistan- so if anyone knows anyone fighting over there that would be willing to bring me some home....I would be grateful! (I only need about 1 cup.)

*BOYS IN HELMETS*

I am a sucker for eyes... There is just something so stinkin' cute about boys faces in helmets. I have a picture frame with 3 openings and have each of my 3 boys helmet pictures in it. I absolutely LOVE it!

(If anyone of you are confused by the "3 boys" statement... Husband + 2 sons = my 3 boys)

*THE ROPE SWING*

GREY'S RIVER, WYOMING
Nicholas flying high with Corb on the edge to catch to rope to throw up to the next person.

Cool shot that just says "SUMMER" to me. The Grey's River is our favorite place to go in the summer. We love the rope swing and tubing down the Grey's. A "Grey's River kind of day" is the best day possible. :)

Christopher getting ready to jump! You can't really tell how high up it is from these pics, but standing up there with the rope it a bit intimidating!

*CAMPFIRES... & DANCING AROUND THEM*

Some of my favorite times have been sitting around a fire.

*MY FAMILY*
This is my dad and nephew Cole and niece Lindsay. I think this was one of the first times my WHOLE family has gone on a trip together. It was a blast... other than the rain.

Hogle Zoo with the fam...

Savannah in my mom's arms, my sister Susan, niece Madeline, niece Lindsay (stroller), Christopher, Hunter, sister Martha holding Sophie, Nicholas, and Cole (stroller).

(Jennifer left for a bit to work when this picture was taken.)
Sisters -love them! What would the world be without SISTERS!

For those of you wondering what this picture is...

we were camping and we had a hair washing party!

... and BROTHER & sis-in-law & their dog Otis.

He is so funny! He kept us laughung the whole time.

*BLACK! is there any other color?????*
& PAINTING-it is my new favorite past time.

This is the new paint job in our walk-in closet. I am hoping to paint pretty much the whole inside of our house by summer.

*SUNSETS*

I love them! This is one of the many great sunsets I have enjoyed from home! The most beautiful sunset I have ever seen was in Aruba.... ahh everything is better in the Caribbean!

*MOTORCYCLES & 4-WHEELERS*

Christopher "riding" the treeline.

Corbin just being is hot little self.

Christopher & Nicholas making sure everything is in tip top shape before seeing how much air they can get on a rockin' jump they found.

One of our favorite family activities is going riding together. I may be the only she in the bunch but I like to think that I can hold my own.

*LANDSCAPES*

Landscapes are one of my favorite things to photograph. I loved the arches of the bridge and tree in this one.

I love the texture and lines in this one.

*BEAR LAKE*

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition watch out!
Savannah and Sophie chillin' at the beach.

"He's LOST his MIND!"

Is this a photo of ONE or TWO of my boys????

You decide!

*MY EXTENDED FAMILY*

Corbin, Brett, Meagan, & Suzie

When I married Corb I didn't just gain a husband, I gained 2 more sisters and another brother PLUS another set of amazing parents! LUCKY ME! I know that a lot of people grumble and complain about their in-laws... NOT ME! I could not have hand picked a more perfect family to marry into! I heart them! I have a blast hanging with the fam there and DeeAnn and I have been known to kick some major butt when we are teamed up together in card games or board games! We are ruthless and competitive... I just love her!

*OUTDOORS*

Nicholas fishing from his tube.

I love being outdoors.

*CRAFTY THINGS*

I love it when I have seen an idea but have it pictured different in my head and try to make it and it works out! This is a baby blanket for one of my friends.

*NECTOR OF THE GODS*

...AS WELL AS SLEEP IN A CAN

I heart the Diet Dew! I drink way too much of it I am sure! I am pretty sure that I alone (ok and Becca) keep Pepsi Co. in business.

*BABIES*

Love them Love them Love them

Especially when my sisters are the ones having them!

Susan & brand new Milo-he is just minutes old and his FAVORITE aunt was there to welcome him.

*MY LUCY*

Corny as it may sound... my FAVORITE thing is my hubby! He totally rocks my world. He is truly my best friend. He is the ying to my yang and the yang to my ying! XOXO Corb! Love you!

So there you have it. A list of a few of my FAVORITE things!

(Thanks Jess for the idea!)

A month or so cont...(Read this one second! Scroll down to "A month or so" post. Read it first!)

Presents got wrapped.

Nicholas participated in his class talent show.

Christmas came and was good at the Christensen household!
The boys were excited about all their gifts, but especially about their PSPs.

And Corb was surprised with a new GYTR pipe for his 4 wheeler.
(He is not really sleeping-he just didn't want you to see his tears of joy. ha ha just kidding)

And here it is the day after Christmas and I am so sad for it all to be over. I love the Christmas season and the warmth and busy-ness that comes with it! Merry Christmas to you all and to all a good night!

The month or so...

So I have been on a blogging hiatis the last few months. I have been quite busy with my everyday life and have rarely slept let alone had time to blog. I took my last final on December 9th. It was a relief to finally have them over. I did well in my classes and am now the proud recipient of an associates degree in nothing... but that degree in nothing is worth precious points in applying to Weber's program-hopefully enough precious points to get me accepted to the program starting fall '09. So after finals I had been telling myself that I would have so much extra time that I wouldn't know what to do myself... but my mom asked if I would be willing to help out in the Christmas room at Gossner's. The pay is pretty good and how fun it is to make gift baskets and boxes for the holidays-let alone earning a few extra bucks, so I told her I was game. So I was going to school, working at Gossner's during the day, and working at the hospital at night for a couple of weeks and then I was able to drop the going to school part. Here are some pictures to recap the last month or so.

Pretzels got dipped for neighbor gifts. Yummy!

Here are some of the ladies I worked with at Gossner's. (My mom is the cute lady in black)

My baby sister had her new baby boy Milo. (This picture should be first since he was born Nov. 25...)
He is so stinkin' cute I may just have to take him home and keep him for myself!
I absolutely love the smell of new babies. Mmmm!

I finally decorated our tree! (For anyone who knows me this job is usually done the day after Thanksgiving or even sometimes before-if I can convince Corb into bringing it down early! This year it was the weekend after finals before it got done! Corbin and Christopher brought the tree down after Thanksgiving but it just sat undecorated in the front room. Nicholas was getting nervous and finally asked me if I was going to decorate the tree this year or if we were just going to have a "plain" tree. I assured him it would be decorated. He was happy when it was done. He and Christopher both got little trees to have in their rooms this year, which they thought was fun.

Halloween

I realize that I am a bit late in posting these, but hey, school and work trumps blogging I guess. Corb and I went as Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky for Halloween. The first pic is of Corb just as he finished the blindfolded "Pinning the syringe on the butt cheek" at a halloween party that we went to hosted by a friend from work.

The boys decided that they didn't want to dress up and go to the Trunk or Treat this year, instead they decided they wanted to go out to dinner and a movie.
On Halloween afternoon when Christopher got home from school, he and some of his friends decided to go trick or treating together. So we quickly figured out a costume for him (he went as a biker dude) and took him in to meet up with his friends. Corb, Nicholas and I went to a delicious dinner at Chili's and to see "Dark Night". Dinner was great, but the movie seemed to drag on FOREVER! The 3 of us were quite happy when it finally ended.
